Program Manager, Chicago, IL
Full Time & located in the Loop (near Millennium Park) with a Monday-Friday schedule!
If you are client focused and ready for a leadership role, this opportunity is for you! HealthFitness is looking for a Program Manager in Chicago, IL. In this role, you'll manage and direct all operational aspects of a midsized, multi-tenant onsite fitness program ensuring the highest level of participation, results achievement and customer satisfaction in the delivery of programs and services. In addition to managing and operating the fitness center, you'll provide personal training and group exercise for members and assist building operations with tenant event planning/setup for the lounge and rooftop. Schedule follows peak usage hours - typically 8AM-4PM.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Ensure contract compliance and manage client relationship. Supervise the fitness center including equipment, towels, and inventory replenishment of tenant amenities.
- Develop and manage the yearly strategic business plan, operating budget, and outcomes focused programs that meet client objectives.
- Track and report participant and program data for measurement of individual and program goal achievement and results.
- Coordinate and market fitness center based individual and group fitness programs, health education activities, motivational programs and special events.
- Manage all fitness center program activities in accordance with HealthFitness operational, quality, safety and service standards.
- Implement and instruct individual and group fitness programs, provide floor supervision, fitness testing, exercise prescriptions, and orientations.
- Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with HealthFitness policies, procedures and applicable laws including recruiting, orienting, training, evaluating, developing and planning the succession of associates. Staff training & development to promote and encourage career growth. Ensure certifications for safe and effective program delivery, conduct annual formal performance appraisals, and initiate formal corrective action process when warranted. Submit employment forms, payroll records and billing worksheets accurately and according to contract provisions and HealthFitness policies.
- Other duties as needed/assigned.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology or related discipline or 2+ years related experience or the equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience.
- Ability to lead, manage and operate a fitness center, provide customer service and coordinate tenant events.
- Current Adult CPR/AED/First Aid certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute.
- Personal Training certification from an industry recognized and HealthFitness approved provider required within 90 days.
- Group Exercise certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT, or NETA (with the ability to teach a variety of group exercise class formats) required within 90 days.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office including at minimum Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ideal candidates will have previous supervisory experience.
- Will be required to follow any current or future site COVID-19 vaccination policies including but not limited to proof of vaccination, weekly testing, etc.
