Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager and Full-Time Coach to join our team. This role is unique in that it combines both coaching and administrative leadership responsibilities, helping to drive gym operations and community engagement.

The Assistant Manager and Full-Time Coach will play a vital role in overseeing daily operations, supporting gym leadership, building member relationships, and actively participating in the gym’s strategic direction. In addition, you’ll lead functional fitness classes and have the opportunity to grow your personal training clientele.

As a key team member, you’ll work with individuals at varying fitness levels to enhance their technique, strength, and performance in areas such as Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, gymnastics and traditional strength & conditioning.

Responsibilities

Administrative and Leadership:

  • Operations Oversight: Ensure smooth daily operations aligned with gym policies and exceptional customer service standards.
  • Member Management: Utilize gym software to track leads, process new member sign-ups, monitor attendance, and record member progress accurately.
  • Policy Implementation: Support and enforce gym policies, procedures, and member communication to maintain a high-quality member experience.
  • Community Event Planning: Work closely with leadership to plan, organize, and execute events, workshops, and social media initiatives, expanding our community reach and engagement.
  • Facility Maintenance: Oversee gym upkeep and coordinate maintenance, ensuring a safe, clean, and inviting environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other staff members to streamline operations, align class and personal training schedules, and support special programs.

Coaching:

  • Lead functional fitness and barbell club classes, providing each member with technical feedback and motivation.
  • Support foundational athletes in developing skillsets and movement confidence.
  • Work with athletes of all levels, modifying movements to match varying abilities and goals.
  • Conduct assessments and provide ongoing feedback on movement quality and performance.
  • Lead personal training sessions tailored to individual client goals and fitness levels.
  • Stay current with trends, research, and techniques in fitness.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 years of coaching experience in functional fitness group settings.
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience coaching Olympic weightlifting.
  • Familiarity in coaching gymnastics, including progressions and regressions for handstand walks, handstand push-ups, and muscle-ups.
  • Preferred certifications: NASM, ACSM, NSCA, CrossFit Level-1 or higher, USAW-1 or comparable
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a positive, inclusive training environment.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Total Compensation: ~$37,500-$45,000 to start
  • Base Salary: $1,500/month
  • Class & Training Pay Rates:
  • Lead Coach | 6-10 classes per week | $30–$55 per class (based on experience)
  • Assistant Coach | 6-10+ classes per week | $20 per class
  • Personal Training | $50–$100 per personal training session (based on experience)
  • A new coach can expect to be between 10-20 hours/week of training by the end of their first year.

Expected Hours: 20–40 per week
