Our ideal candidate will have a passion for coaching and a commitment to improving the lives of our members. You should have at LEAST 1 year of coaching experience, but regardless of your experience, you should be willing to learn and grow into a professional coach. We are looking for a coach to pick up 5+ hours per week. Starting pay is $25/class. You will also receive a free unlimited gym membership, course reimbursement for job-related continuing education, and 1-hr/month of free Chiropractic care through Valley Sports Chiropractic.
Minimum Qualifications/Certifications:
- CF-L1
- CPR/AED certified
- 1+ years of coaching experience

- 2+ years of coaching experience
- Degree in exercise science, or a related field
- Additional related credentials (NASM, CSCS, USAW, Precision Nutrition, etc.)
Read below for Job Responsibilities and Expectations:
Responsible for:
- Planning and executing high-quality, challenging, and safe classes using the CrossFit methodology and following the provided programming
- Responding appropriately to member needs
- Providing personalized experiences for each member
- Building meaningful and positive relationships with members
- Actively engaging in professional development and continuing education efforts
- Signing in all athletes who are attending each of your classes through the Wodify coach board on the TV screen/iPad or the Coach View screen on your phone
- Make sure the gym looks the same as, if not better than when you arrived (clean floors, clean equipment, all unneeded equipment is properly stored, etc.)
- After the last class of the day, put back all equipment from the day and set up the gym for the following day (or you can coordinate with the early morning coach for the next day)
- Finding coverage from the other coaches for any scheduled class(es) you are not able to coach
- Communicating with the Head Coach about any and all issues related to coaching duties
- Attending and participating in (paid) monthly staff meetings
- The first class of the day coach: Following the ‘Opening Procedures’
- First class of the day coach: Providing other coaches with class notes via the Team group message so all other classes can run effectively and efficiently
- Last class of the day coach: Following the ‘Closing Procedures’
Expectations:
- Arriving to scheduled class(es) a MINIMUM of 10 min. before the scheduled start time
- Bringing your BEST self to each and every class to provide a FUN and EDUCATIONAL experience in each class
- Coaching class to the best of your abilities and on par with CFLV coaching standards
- Running class from beginning to end with a positive attitude
- Cooling down athletes after each class, with the exception of coaching back-to-back classes
- Watching all workout prep videos/linked materials BEFORE scheduled class(es)
- Wearing a CrossFit Lehigh Valley Coach shirt (you will be provided with 4 shirts and can purchase more shirts at cost) during all coaching hours
- Not using cell phone/watches to text or make calls during coaching hours (with the exception of family and personal emergencies)
- Answering all staff communication in a timely manner (within 24 hours on weekdays, or 48 hours on weekends)
- Attending gym-led functions as often as your schedule allows
- Maintaining a ‘Good Standing’ status as a coach by:
- Attending and participating in a MINIMUM of 10 out of 12 monthly staff meetings
- Having fewer than TWO (2) late and/or missed classes
- Following the CFLV Code of Conduct
