At JP CrossFit we strive to elevate the professionalism surrounding CrossFit, and specifically the CrossFit coach. As such, we believe in providing our full-time coaches with a salary that enables them to focus on coaching CrossFit as a career. As a salaried, full-time coach, you're expected to not only coach classes but participate in all aspects of running a gym, with the eventual goal of becoming a co-head coach/manager.
A non-exhaustive list of the expected duties for this position are:
- Coaching approximately 15 group CrossFit classes per week.
- Assisting in member onboarding.
- Responding to membership inquiries.
- Coaching free trial classes that introduce potential members to CrossFit and our gym.
- Coaching fundamentals classes to give new members an introduction to the fundamental movements in CrossFit.
- Working with the Head Coach to create fun gym events and parties
- Assist in hosting annual CrossFit Open events.
- Assist in leading our in-gym competitions.
- Perform general gym upkeep including regular cleaning and general equipment maintenance
- Assist in product re-stocking and ordering
- Provide input in general gym-wide decisions

We strongly believe in collaboration and transparent communication and need someone who is willing to put forth ideas, compromise, and share in responsibility. This person must share our vision of inclusivity in fitness and must be willing to learn tools of inclusivity, especially in respect to the LGBTQIA+ population. We are excited to invite coaches from underrepresented backgrounds, specifically coaches who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ population, and/or who identify as a person of color.
Position Benefits:
- Competitive yearly salary starting at $52,000, paid out every two weeks.

Position Requirements:
- Must hold a CrossFit Level 1 Certificate or greater.
- If the applicant does not hold the CrossFit Level 2 Certificate, they must be willing to take the CrossFit Level 2 Certificate Course within 6 months from the start of employment.
- Must have flexibility to work morning and night shifts.
- Must have flexibility to work on weekends.
- Must be available for a minimum of 15 classes a week which represents the higher end of the potential coaching load.
- Required to take a minimum of 2 classes per week for first 6 months of employment.
- Must undergo our JP CrossFit Coaching Onboarding Program and provide lesson plans to the head coach for the first 3 months of employment.
- Required to help run major gym events (CrossFit Open, in-gym competitions, etc…)
- Must have knowledge of kettlebells, dumbbells, powerlifting, olympic weightlifting, and basic gymnastics.
- Any other sport-specific knowledge or training experience is welcomed.
