Job Description

Head Coach at Wildwood Fitness Collective

I'd like to start by introducing myself, the owner. I think it's important to understand the purpose behind the gym. I'm Mike Petruso, owner of Wildwood Fitness Collective, previously CrossFit Wildwood. My wife and I, along with our 4 children are fully involved in our gym daily. This is our livelihood, it's how we survive, and we couldn't be more excited for this next chapter...another decade providing unparalleled service, helping the community find their potential, and making fitness FUN. If you're the right fit, and I value morals and ethics every bit as much as credentials, if this is you, contact us, after you prove yourself you have lots of opportunities here : )

Wildwood Fitness Collective is more than just a gym, it's a community-driven space built on a decade of CrossFit excellence, now evolved into a dynamic, all-encompassing fitness experience. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Head Coach to lead our training programs, inspire our members, and uphold our commitment to strength, longevity, and overall wellness. As a key leader, you will play an integral role in shaping the member experience, mentoring coaches, and fostering a culture of hard work, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engaging and effective group classes across various fitness disciplines, ensuring members of all levels feel challenged and supported.
  • Develop and refine programming that aligns with our holistic fitness approach, integrating strength, conditioning, mobility, and recovery.
  • Foster a high-energy, welcoming community that prioritizes member progress, retention, and overall well-being.
  • Support and mentor fellow coaches to ensure consistency in coaching standards, safety, and member engagement.
  • Assist in gym operations, including onboarding new members, tracking progress, and contributing to marketing efforts that promote Wildwood Fitness Collective.
  • Stay up to date with the latest in fitness, nutrition, and recovery methodologies to enhance our offerings, including cold plunges, yoga, and performance-based training.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of coaching experience in functional fitness, or a related discipline.
  • Certified in CrossFit Level 1 or higher (additional certifications in weightlifting, mobility, or recovery are a plus).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to connect with members and build lasting relationships.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to contribute ideas for gym growth, retention, and brand development.
  • Passion for health, fitness, and community-driven coaching with a commitment to continuous learning.

This is a unique opportunity to lead within a rebranded, forward-thinking fitness collective that goes beyond traditional gym offerings. If you're ready to make a lasting impact in the Wildwood community and elevate the fitness experience for our members, we'd love to hear from you.
