The Town of Marana is seeking Fitness Instructors to work in the Parks and Recreation Department. This short-term temporary position is an exciting opportunity for a fitness professional interested in inspiring and engaging the community in health and wellness at the new Marana Aquatics and Recreation Center. Pursuant to the Marana Town Code, Sections 3-1-2(D) and 3-1-3(B), and the current Salary Schedule implemented by the Town Manager, the position of Fitness Instructor is defined as an Unclassified position. Unclassified positions are at-will employees and employment that may be terminated upon the will of the employer or employee at any time with or without cause.
Hiring Rate:
Level 1 = $19
Level 2 = $21
Level 3 = $23
Level 4 = $25
At least one (1) certification and a minimum of four (4) points are required to meet the minimum qualifications for this role at a Level 1 pay rate. - High school diploma or GED equivalency plus six months of additional education or training
- Over six months experience as a fitness instructor, personal trainer, or in a related field.
- Fitness instructor certification (certification must be attached to this application)
An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Arizona Driver License
- Must pass a pre-employment physical and a 25-pound lift test
- Ability to pass both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Additional specialty/certifications are preferred.
