Job Summary
The BODYBAR Instructor is directly supervised by the Fitness Manager. The successful candidate is a passionate fitness practitioner, a community builder, a confident communicator, a positive motivator, embraces a feedback culture, and is inspired to grow and learn. As a member of the BODYBAR team, this person will ensure a positive and safe fitness experience for all BODYBAR clients.
All BODYBAR instructors begin their journey with the BODYBAR instructor training program, even if they’ve previously completed other Pilates teacher training and prepares you to teach within 30 days of training. Bridge training at a reduced cost/reduced hours for applicants with a Pilates Instructor certification of at least 450 hours.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate and demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of BODYBAR’s method, mission, vision, and goals
- Design and instruct Pilates-based group fitness classes, according to the BODYBAR teaching method, that are safe and effective for clients of all fitness levels
- Educate participants on proper and safe exercise form
- Execute risk management plan; enforce policies and procedures in group fitness activity areas
- Respond to client questions regarding, but not limited to, the following: special movement considerations, studio policies and promotions
- Arrive before class to inspect equipment and ensure proper set up/client safety and stay after class to interact with clients and return equipment to its proper place
- Able to teach at least 3 classes per week. Must include at least one of the following: 1 PM class, 1 AM, or 1 Weekend Class. And be available to sub as needed
- All instructors are responsible for securing subs for all assigned classes in a timely manner. Any classes not subbed remain the responsibility of the instructor
Qualifications
- A passion for health, fitness, and exercise
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of basic anatomy
- Prior Pilates/fitness experience preferred, but not required
