Sales Manager, LATAM

Reports to: Senior Sales Manager, The Americas (Bilingual: English and Spanish)
Position Overview:
Reporting to, and in close collaboration with the Senior Sales Manager, The Americas, this individual will be responsible for managing all current Reseller/Distributor sales and direct sales activities in Latin America. In addition to existing customers, the Sales Manager will manage new business coming in via phone, email, tradeshows, targeted outbound efforts and other lead sources. This person will work to encourage and facilitate the marketing of Merrithew® products in their designated territory to drive sales revenue with existing customers, and will play a key role in highly targeted business development to help grow the company’s direct sales and reseller network. The ability to speak Spanish is a requirement for this sales role (Portuguese is a plus). Admin support is available through the Customer Service team (replacement parts, damaged shipments, etc.) and the Sales Coordinator, The Americas for qualifying new leads and Saved Carts opportunities.
Major Responsibilities
Sales:
- Meet and exceed annual set sales quotas.
- Promote/negotiate/sell/secure orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based, consultative sales approach.
- Respond with a sense of urgency to customer and prospect inquiries and prepare written presentations and price quotes.
- Review and have a comprehensive understanding of largest customers and partnerships – either direct, through Education LTCs (Licensed Training Centers) or HTCs (Host Training Centers) or via Resellers.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of current Reseller and Distributor partners and be able to articulate to the team their business, unique account-specific sales opportunities, how they communicate with their customers.
- Be able to find and recommend any cross-channel sales opportunities with existing key partners. Develop an in-depth knowledge of their people, systems and accounts.
- Visit our direct accounts and Reseller/Distributor partners, where appropriate, to train their staff, pitch customers and strategize on new Business Development opportunities.
- Work with and assist the Senior Sales Manager, The Americas to facilitate the on-boarding of new Reseller/Distributor partners.
- Work with the Senior Sales Manager, The Americas and the Marketing team to ensure that marketing efforts are aligned, regionally with local opportunities.
Business Development
- Research assigned territory, understand competitive landscape and identify new sales opportunities.
- Understand the various trade show opportunities in each territory and recommend company participation, as appropriate
- Pass Reseller/Distributor leads to Senior Sales Manager, The Americas for qualification.
- Collaborate with equipment/education partners to create local events.
- Build network and seek new opportunities, using social media sources including LinkedIn and Facebook, and trade associations, etc.
- Attend and participate in trade shows, conventions, sales meetings and product seminars and visit prospective customers, as required.
Administrative/Customer Service
- Manage forecasts, close deals, and track customer data using company standard CRM tools with an ongoing and accurate sales funnel.
- Expedite the resolution of customer problems or logistical issues and complaints with all necessary departments.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as required.
Skills & Experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in a Business Development and/or Account Management role.
- Must be able to speak English, Spanish. Portuguese is a plus.
- Able to work independently with a proven track record in driving measurable results and exceeding sales targets.
- Must use company CRM tools and keep exceptional notes and sales funnel management.
- Strong business judgment and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize and articulate highest impact initiatives for business development.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
